Bed bugs are persistent parasites that have been alive from human blood for centuries. These pesky critters can leave itchy, red bumps on your body, but they don't always leave a mark, so the only way to know if you have them is to see the bed bug. Over 100,000 people are bitten by bedbugs annually. These are just those cases that have been reported. There are cases where physicians do not even diagnose a bed bug sting due to the high cost of extermination. Once bed bugs have taken over your home or business, it's time to call Lighthouse. We take care of extermination for you, giving you the tranquility that your bed bug problem is being taken care of.

Many people don’t know that pre-treatment steps can be taken to make the treatment more effective. The more severe your infestation, the more you will need to do.

  • Strip and wash all sheets, mattress pads, blankets, pillowcases, shams and other items on your bed.
  • Remove all items from chests of drawers, night tables and closets and put them in plastic bags.
  • Pass all garments, curtains and other fabrics through the dryer in the highest possible setting for a minimum of 20 minutes.
  • Remove all bulky items, such as boxes, bins, books and magazines, from treatment rooms or the area. In other words, it is not sufficient to move the clutter from one area to the next in the same room.
  • Make arrangements for your pets, if applicable, to remain with a friend or relative during treatment.
  • Cover fish ponds and remove filters or aerators from power sources.
  • Place all packaged articles outside.

These steps may sound like a burden, but they are essential to ensuring that Lighthouse can properly access and treat all infested areas.
